Meet junior Sydney Babcock

Junior Sydney Babcock is an accomplished student, athlete, and member of the Littleton High School community. She is involved in numerous extracurricular activities, including Marching Band, Jazz Band, Key Club, Honor Society, and Sources of Strength. She is best known, however, for volleyball. Her passion for volleyball both inside and outside of school goes years back. Having been playing since middle school, Babcock is deeply involved in the sport. When asked what inspired her to play, she said,

“Definitely my brother. He started club at the start of high school and he just got, like, really really good.”

Babcock plays both on the school team and outside of school.

“I play beach volleyball and then I also play club volleyball at Front Range.”

Babcock comes back to play volleyball every year for the Littleton High School team; she enjoys every aspect of the sport and the community. When asked her favorite thing about volleyball at school, she said,

“The community, for sure. I love all of my teammates. I love how we get little sisters and I love them so much. Senior night last night, I was sobbing. I’m not gonna see any of those seniors again and that makes me really sad.”

Babcock’s words serve as a testament to the tight-knit sports communities created at Littleton High School and the fond memories every athlete makes. When asked about her favorite memory, she shared,

“During my freshman to sophomore year, a group of people got invited to do the CSU camp overnight in dorms. I stayed in a dorm with Angelina. One night, all of the girls got together and we went to the beach volleyball courts there by ourselves, and we listened to music and played beach volleyball at sunset.”

Athletics are a great way to make friends and become involved at Littleton High School. It’s never too late to join clubs and teams—you’ll make memories you’ll cherish forever. Babcock encourages those interested in volleyball to participate.

“We do open gyms over the summer, there’s preseason too before tryouts. Just try out and see how it goes. You should try. It’s so fun and a great community.”

It’s never too late to get involved with our community. There are so many opportunities that lie in our building, so take advantage of them. Babcock embodies our school’s values in her positive attitude and her dedication to our community.
