The homecoming football game brings the school together

Last night we had our Homecoming football game against John F. Kennedy High School. It was the perfect way to end our Homecoming week. Students packed the stands full of spirit and cheered on our dedicated football players.

The Football team heads onto the field

The very first play of the game ended with the Lions getting a touchdown and placing us above our opponents. They played a great and fair game but were unfortunately overpowered by the other team. We lost 42 to 27. Despite that, we are very proud of our football players and wish them luck for the rest of their season.

The marching band performs for the crowd at Halftime during the game.

The halftime show featured the Varsity Poms team performing their new show for this year. The Marching Band followed with a performance of their 3rd and 4th movements of their overall shows. They also played periodically in the stands to entertain the crowd. At the end of Halftime the Homecoming Royalty walked down the field with their family members or friends. The King and Queen were announced as Elliott Benson and Eliza Neff respectively.

The crowd got wild throughout the game as our Student Body President and Vice President, Anika Bagal and Isa Roth unveiled new chants for us all. They were accompanied by some old favorites that everyone loves.

The Homecoming Game is always a great way to round out the week of festivities. The football team’s next home game is on October 13. Come out to cheer on our team!
