The mystery of the window and the banana

Bathroom windows vs. bananas – Who will come out on top?

How does a singular banana break a whole window, a window enforced with metal bars nonetheless? This is the question that has been puzzling LHS these past couple of days.

On Thursday, November 6th, students found the upstairs Boys Bathroom closed. This is not the first time that the bathrooms have been shut down under mysterious circumstances, although Jay, our Campus Supervisor, notes that it is usually the Boys Bathroom that gets shut down.

Rumors quickly spread throughout the school about how this happened, or who did it.

The most popular conclusion took to the halls like wildfire: vandalism. The weapon of choice? Banana. Supposedly.

However, this claim is under high suspicion. Jay doubts that a banana could cause such blatant destruction, due to its soft, squishy texture. As funny as it would be if it was a banana, it doesn’t seem entirely realistic. Could it be a cover-up story for something else? If it wasn’t a banana, what object actually could break a barred up window? And who did it, and why? This is a true mystery, captivating LHS with the almost comical nature of the incident.

At first, it was suspected this could be a new line of “Devious Licks”, trends that circulated on Social Media a couple of years ago that popularized vandalism of the bathrooms. However, further investigation has revealed that this was simply a random, spontaneous act of destruction.

Vandalism may seem funny or “cool”, but it is extremely harmful, to not only us as students, but also to the janitors who work relentlessly to keep our school clean. Please, keep the bathrooms in order, and most importantly, keep all bananas away from the windows!
