LHS plays beautiful “A Full Turn” choir concert

This past Tuesday night, the choir concert took place. “A Full Turn” was the name of the concert, and its theme followed the progression of a full day: morning, afternoon and evening. Each segment featured the different choirs switching after each song.

The morning portion began with Sunrise by Jay Althouse, sung by all the choirs in unison. This was followed by Yonder Come Day by Adam & Matt Podd, performed by the Troubadours, with Ezekiel Chase on percussion and Levi Parker on bass, adding to the song’s magic. A piece about the morning sky called Watercolor Morning by Ruth Elaine Schram was beautifully performed by the Syrens. To conclude the morning set, the Tenor/Bass choir performed The Dawns Awake by Laura Farnell.

The afternoon portion began with a Treble Choir singer introducing the theme for the next set of songs. Orange Colored Sky by Kirby Shaw was performed by LHS Singers, bringing lively energy to the stage. This was followed by Twilight by Andy Beck, performed by the Treble Choir, creating a beautiful and moving moment. The afternoon concluded with That Sunset by Audrey Snyder performed by the Syrens, ending the segment with a soulful and powerful performance.

Finally, the evening portion began with the Troubadours performing Evening by Ruth Morris Gray. This was followed by Nightfall by Roger Emerson, sung by the Treble Choir with Chase on percussion. Next, the Tenor/Bass Choir performed In the Still of the Night by Roger Emerson, featuring a solo by Ryan Roybal. The LHS Singers performed Lullaby by Mac Huff, a song that calmed the crowd. To end the concert, Ad Astra by Jacob Narverud was performed by all choirs, ending the concert the way it started, which was in unison.

This was a truly enjoyable concert full of talent. Don’t forget to go and support the LHS Performing Arts events coming up!
