The LPS security building works extremely hard 24/7, 365 to keep everyone safe. Cory Weis, the assistant director of security and emergency planning for Littleton Public Schools, offers tours for students, parents and staff who are interested in finding out how the security building is run.
Weis describes what the building does, “Essentially, what we do here is we have around 30 people who work for us, where we oversee security inside the schools and around the district.”
The building monitors over 1,500 cameras along with managing intrusion alarms, weapon detection, weather and facial recognition systems.

In emergencies, they are the ones who lock down buildings or place them on secure.
“We work every holiday, weekend, night, afternoons, mornings. There’s always someone here watching every building.”
