Girls soccer had their first game of the season last Thursday, March 7th, at Centennial Stadium. The lions played the Thomas Jefferson spartans with an ending score of 3 LHS and 0 TJHS.

Within the first 15 minutes, the first goal of the game was scored by Littleton junior Anna Amada assisted by senior Jaidyn Davis. TJHS didn’t score a goal for the duration of the first half. By the start of halftime, LHS had a 1-0 lead over TJHS.

During halftime, snow began to fall yet the girls played on.

Even though the girls were shivering on the bench, they still played their hearts out on the pitch. Both teams took lots of chances and many goals were saved by sophomore goalkeeper Becca Ellis.

With 10 minutes left in the game, senior Isa Roth scored the first goal of the second half.

As the game came to a close, with only 1 minute left, Roth scored yet another goal and brought LHS to a victory of 3-0.

With such an encouraging start, it’s easy to imagine an incredible 2024 season for girl’s soccer.
