Pride of Littleton Marching Band Steals the Show

This past weekend the Pride of Littleton Marching Band finished off their season and went to state to perform “A Night in Havana”, a very colorful show that is about friends, having fun and can almost be described as a “party show”. The Lions had an incredible performance in the 4A Quarterfinals and placed first out of 13 other schools. They then moved onto the 4A Semifinals where they placed 6th out of 11 other schools. This then moved them onto the 4A Finals where they placed 6th behind Centaurus, Loveland, Air Academy, Monarch, and Montrose. This was a competitive competition with lots of talent. Marching band has had an incredible season this year and we are so proud of all the work they have done and energy they have brought onto the field.

Senior Carson James is the drum major for the marching band this year and has put an immense amount of work into this season, when talking to James about what his favorite part about being drum major is “creating a larger community within the band and just being able to give something that future years will be able to carry through is my favorite part.” said James, he was also asked what the biggest moment was, that was really rewarding for the team during state and he said that “I feel like stepping off the field off of our finals performance. The energy was just high. Everyone felt like they had a really good final show, and it was just like a really fun way to finish off the season for us.” Lastly James has been a part of the Marching Band for all 4 years at Littleton and has had a lot of experience and fun, but he was asked if he could describe his experience in the Marching Band in one word. James responded “satisfying” which is a very good description of the process that band goes through each year and the community they have built.

Congratulations Lions, we can’t wait to see what you do next season with all the incredible talent you have.
